Moved house - 1 HDD light only and no network connection
« on: March 27, 2012, 05:29:22 PM »

Hi all, I need some help asap.

I have had my DNS-320 running smoothly with 2 x 2TB segate drives for the past 12 months without a hitch. I just moved house and hooked it up temporarily to my wireless modem (which has no internet connection as yet) purely so I could access the NAS via wireless until I get my new network setup etc. But here are the issues:

1. The unit seems to boot up fine, but only the 'L' hdd light and the power light is displayed. I'm certain both the L and R lights displayed prior to moving.

2. During bootup I get NIC lights on the NAS and on the router, then sometime during the HDD checks or whatever, the NIC lights dissapear and so does it's apparent connection to the router, so it can't be accessed at all.

I have searched everywhere and can't find a solution, some help would be apreciated.

Cheers

If it does have two disks try popping them out then putting back in to reseat. its possible the move has dislodged one.
other options are try without disks in to see if network comes online. Are you using the same cable as before?
