access control
« on: May 02, 2012, 03:38:32 AM »

I can't get the scheduler to work every time I set up a schedule to control access to the internet. When I save settings and exit out then go to turn access control on it turns off access right then instead of the scheduled time. What am I doing wrong??? firmware is 1.35.

To set up scheduling:
1. Reserve device IP addresses ON the router under Setup/Networking.
2. Set up a schedule under Tools/Schedule on the routers web page. Customize your dates and times here.
3. Use Access Control under Advanced to apply the customized schedule to a policy and to the PC(s) desired to be controlled.

you have to save your schedule with a name....

reboot the router....

DNS Relay has to be turned on....

Reboot the router....

When setting up an Access Control policy, the name of the previously created schedule should be in the drop down list.....

Save new policy

Reboot the router....

I still can not get it to work I enter a schedule save it's settings. Then go to access control enable access control a second or 2 after I enable access control it cuts off access to whatever computer I am trying to control no matter what time I have set up in the schedule. I have checked the time on the router and it is right just can't seem to get it to stop turning off access when i don't want it off.

Try swapping time frames?
Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using teamviewer if your interested. Its safe and secure.

Yeah I tried swapping the times and still turns the computer off. Right now I am willing to try anything. I am not all that up on the router stuff so who knows maybe there is something that I am missing.

Also these routers sometimes have issues with a schedule that wraps around Midnight.  If you have one that does it best to make two policies, one that ends at midnight and another that starts at Midnight.
