DNS-325 Print Server Issues
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:00:59 PM »

Hello,
I have a HP Laserjet 1018 printer attached to my DNS-325.  I can add this printer on my Windows 7 machine and my iMac running OS X 10.6.8 but, when I send a print job to it, nothing happens.  It sits in the queue for a while and then disappears.  I have default settings configured on NAS and well as D-Link Router we are attached to.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

How did you put the printer on ??
The way to do this on both pc and mac
is first install the usb driver on to the computer
then delete
The driver is still there ( don't panic!!!!)
Now on windows 7 double click the folder Bottom left
Then click network > click on the Dlink (or what ever you called it )
Now this will open a screen that shows two drive (if set up that way) or one and a printer symbol
if its gray make sure your printer is plugged in
double click windows will then open up a Box saying there is no printer driver allocated to this there is two drop down boxes
Manufacture and model Your model will be on that list select it and click ok
Window is now ported to the printer and will work
Macs are don the same way find in your browser and open the same printer symbol
This is the only way it will work and can not be done any other way
