I recently lost or deleted 3.5TB of files of both my DNS345s.  I use one to back up the other.  I recently copied over files from my mac to the DNS and also deleted shares I had set up.  The capacity meter still shows everything as there on both, 5508 GB of 9159 GB used.  Also, on my mac I used "get info" on the folder in question it said 3.5TB on disk for 489 items, so i believe everything is there, just not sure how to proceed.

I am hoping for a "free" solution before I try paid software.

Found the files.  I use GoodSync to transfer files between my mac and NASs.  GoosSync seems to have moved all my files to a new location while moving new ones to the original file.
