Need some FTP assistance.
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:45:31 AM »

I feel like a moron, but I cannot figure this one out.  I configured the DNS-321 for FTP services, chose the users I wanted to have access and to what shares.  I then set the port forwarding on my router and thought all was well.

I come into work this morning, try to access the FTP server and I am greeted with a username and password prompt, cool I think to myself, well turns out the username and pass will not let me browse my share.  I have tried my account, the other account and the admin account for the 321 and nothing will let me in.  It just says "501 Tell me who you are".....  Any help out there?

Go back home - make sure ftp works on the local network before trying to use it remotely, next - make sure you configure the users correctly in the ftp server setup (not network access)

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.

I guess I should have also stated that I cannot connect via FTP when @ home either using the local network address.  I get the same error.

The users have been setup in the FTP section.
