it does monitor wireless traffic too.  ok so i limited transmission rate to 1mbps for wireless, its breaking the rules sometimes spiking up to 1.5 as i stream hulu episode.  studdered at first but then now is ok. not sure what will happen with a 2nd wireless client on it.  im sure it will choke a little.

this program dont have many features as DUmeter does.

no save log, just live viewing at custom intervels.

I haven't tried Network Meter, but have been using DU Meter for over 7 years now and haven't come across a competing product that could stand up to it.

I use Network Meter and I like it.
I installed it on all my pc's so it will track usage that I can (add up) each month to get a "rough" idea of how much data has been sent/received.

This, of course, does not include any traffic from my two ps3's, my AVR, or the smartphones.

I like the fact that on Network Meter you can reset the counter manually or set a date for it to reset.

It would be nice (I have seen routers like the ASUS) that actually have traffic measurement/reporting.
That is cool.
Maybe someday DLink will do that - but so far their UI has not changed very much - and I would suspect that short of just "fixing bugs", they are not interested in creating a better, more useful UI - but of course, time will tell.

It's been found that having traffic monitoring features on routers has been known to slow the router down. Had a NG and ran dogged slow with monitoring on. Id rather have router using well and fast. Monitoring can be place anywhere.

Can't we have our cake and eat it too ?
 ;)

I'd love to see a killer router, with enough horsepower to do everything we need it to.
They just need to beef up the processor to accomodate the extra cycles that are needed to handle the bells and whistles.

Maybe we'll see this kind of forward-thinking in the new 802.11ac routers that come out.
Maybe.

The latest D-Link consumer NAS, DNS-345, has good network monitoring capabilities, logging, reporting, and even churns out graphs. I'd like to see that on the back end of a router.  ;)
