Can't keep a connection up

I got a DIR-825 for my home network.  I have it connected to a DSL modem (static IP) via ethernet, and then have multiple clients of different types (laptops, desktops, devices) connecting via WiFi.  Connections constantly drop out, particularly under load.  I have the router updated to firmware 1.01.  So far I've turned off most of the features, tried all the WPA/algorithm combinations, etc., to no avail.

Anyone know of specific settings which increase the likelyhood of network dropouts?

Is there any way I can get a sense of if/when they might release firmware updates for this?

I wrote support via the web forms, but they have not replied to my queries.

Been rreading several of the forums here and several people have reported these typr of "issues" with their router.  It is not limited to one version. 

Several things to test:

Forcing a wireless channel
Forcing a transmission rate
Forcing a channel width
Changing transmit power
Changing fragmentation thresholds


Lock the WAN port to a speed, other than Auto.

I can attest that setting a fixed channel has not solved the disconnect problem for me. I will have to look into the other options, though.
