cable modem -> old router -> 655?
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:51:36 PM »

I have a cable modem in my basement and an old dlink router (614+) I would like to use to distribute cat5 through the house. I would like to plug my new DIR-655 into one of the cat5 outlets upstairs (for better wireless coverage.)

I'm not sure how to set this up. I've turned the wireless function off on the 614+. I've assigned a unique IP address to the 655. However, I can't see the 655.

I assume I'm missing some steps. Any help would be appreciated.

PS - When the 655 is plugged directly into the cable modem, everything works fine.
