Slow copy speed issue
« on: June 06, 2012, 07:05:34 PM »

Hi all.

So I just got my DNS-320. Popped in a Seagate 2tb drive and set it up with little difficulty. As soon as it was ready I tried transferring some files from my pc to the sharecenter and wow, it was slow. I was seeing speeds of ~2MB/second.

After looking into the problem it doesn't seem to be a network issue. Once I had a file on the DNS320 I tried copy/pasting that file to the same drive (just copy and paste to the same location, no network activity involved) When I do this I'm getting about 1MB/second. The bottleneck seems to be the DNS320 itself.

Any ideas?

btw, I updated to the 2.03 firmware after I saw the slow copy speeds. No improvement.
