Its a couple of weeks shy of a year since I bought my DNS-320 to store photo, music and video files and play them on my TV without having to boot up a computer, only to find that it didn't work as advertised.
As I previously posted in June 2011 (topic=39052.0), the DNS-320 implementation with version 2.00 firmware doesn't stream Photos or Music to my Samsung UN46B8000XF Television & the video directory structure displays incorrectly on the TV. Back then, D-Link Tech Support couldn't help and referred me to Samsung.
Subsequently, I installed TWONKY media server on the DNS-320, TWONKY streamed the stored Photos & Music properly and presented logical directories on the TV. Also, minidlna installed on a UBUNTU computer, and mapped to the files stored on the DNS-320 is able to stream all three types of files (Photo, Music & Video) stored on the DNS-320 to my TV, but of course I have to leave the computer on.
I'm disappointed that DNS-320 owners to have to “hack” a commercial product or adapt freeware written by a Netgear engineer after paying D-Link for a commercial product!
Has anyone gotten the DNS-320 to stream photos, music and video files using the D-Link supplied firmware?
