Problem with portforwarding
« on: May 18, 2012, 12:32:36 AM »

Hi, I have a few problems with port forwarding and virtual server. I have a few ports I want to forward to different servers, have tried with a few different and the same outcome. I have a webserver on 192.168.0.110 (part of the dhcp scope), if I try and port forward port 80 to that IP, it never forwards. Can see on the server, that there are no incomming requests (firewall on all computers have been disabled during this test).
I have also used this http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check if the ports are open but no.
If I plug my computer directly into my modem, everthing works and the webserver can handle the requets and show the webpage.
UPNP must work however, because there is no problems with uTorrent.
Have firmware 1.01, cant see there are any newer.
Have also rebootet the router a few times.

Welcome!

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.
To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

Some things to try:
Turn off ALL QoS or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.

You have to be actively using the port on the server before checking to see if the status is open or closed.
Usually you should have to PF 80 as thats a common port using in all Internet connections.

Your ISP probably blocks port 80. You can try to DMZ and it still will not work. My ISP does it's blocking of ports with the modem and can be put in bridge mode but ports are still blocked. If I want to use port 80 I have to use a third party modem.

You Probably have residential service and if you read the tos you may see that you are not allowed
to run a server on it. ;)
