Hacking DNS323

Is is ok to hack the dns323 with fun_plug? Will installing rtorrent will interfere with the stock torrent? Will changing the usb port to support flash drive and external hdd cost the port not supporting print server?

I use fun_plug and it works well.  Don't know how I'd exist without it, as fun_plug really helps manage the device.  If you want to run an alternate samba, torrent, or other service, simply set up your fun_plug start scripts to make sure any "built-in" services are shut down before starting your own.

Be careful if you use fun_plug to use/install alternatives to a service the 323 already provides.  If you overlap services, it could be a BadThing™.  If you already have the D-Link torrent app running, you'll have to disable it before replacing it with anything else.  If you have a good working knowledge of Linux, these things won't be so hard, but this isn't necessarily the device you'll want to learn Linux on.  If you'd like to try out Linux without overwriting your Windows installation and get that practice, try a Ubuntu Live DVD.
