DNS-320 not responding
« on: November 24, 2012, 02:14:45 AM »

I've recently started having problems with my DNS-320.

- It responds to ping requests
- The admin web page does not open
- When I try to telnet in I get "connection refused"
- When I ftp it connects, but trying to list a folder gives me an error:

Code: [Select]
220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 1 of 10 allowed.
220-Local time is now 10:04. Server port: 21.
220 You will be disconnected after 10 minutes of inactivity.

ftp> cd Volume_1
250 OK. Current directory is /Volume_1
ftp> ls

I've tried rebooting several times to no avail. Anyone had similar problems? Anything else I can try?

Ok the curse of posting on a forum has struck (in this case it's a good thing!). I tried unplugging it, pulling out the hard drive, putting it back in, turning it on, and plugging the network back in, and lo it started working again. Not sure why it got it's knickers in a twist the first time!  ???

Possibly a spike on the mains caused upset of the operating system.  We had odd problems with all our NAS that weren't on UPSs when EDF were working on the power lines.
