I think your hopes are idle: the DIR is not built to facilitate such features (RAM, CPU, Ubicom platform). You really need a dedicated NAS (Synology etc) for those purposes. Even more, these features (the Ubicom OS does have more features than used in the router) will affect the router performance. Also, you don't launch these features in the final (last to come) firmware version that is coming up. If flawed only a bit it will destroy the credibility of brand and model without a chance of restoring the flaws. And software/firmware always has a flaw somewhere. Just a fact of life.  ;)

That's a pity!!!! Think: we put a 64 Gb pendrive hooked in 655 and..... let it rock!!!!
