File Size Restriction

Ive noticed for some reason I can basicaly copy any size of file I like to my DNS 320, just spent a few days copying terabytes of Blu Rays, each ranging from 8gig to 40gig in size.  This is not a problem, however I have noticed when my DNS is the target for my torrent client it will effectively crash and refuse to accept a torrent any size over 8 gig.

I now have to resort to using an external HDD wait for download to complete then copy over to the DNS 320.

Is there any explanation for this?, not exactly ideal.
