Cannot connect to DNS-323

Strange problem. I moved my home office upstairs. DNS-323 comes with me. I can see it in the router as an attached device. I can ping it from my PC at 192.168.0.100 to the 323 at 192.168.0.3 just fine. I can find it with the easyfind utility.

I cannot get to the DNS webpage. If I navigate to it with explorer, it shows the top level folder structure but times out if I attempt to navigate deeper on any folder.

Any suggestions?

I know this may sound a stupid question but what else changed - other than the physical position of the NAS and your PC?

I am asking because there may be a problem with lan cables and/or ports on the router.

You could also try using the NAS reset switch at the back.  Doing so will not loose your data but will loose things like shares etc. but if everything starts working again it should be a simple matter to redo the setup.

Did you change the cabling/port the DNS-323 was connected to? Did the DNS-323 IP address change? Are you reserving the IP address for the DNS-323? Is the DNS-323 set to a static IP address? I'm wondering if there is a possible IP conflict. Cabling (as Ivan pointed out) is also a likely candidate.

On closer scrutiny, it would appear the ethernet driver was updated. Win7 Home Premium Revo R3600. Latest version of nvidia ethernet drivers broke this. Of course, for some reason system restore was not on.

I uninstalled and installed back level ethernet driver, but still no happiness.

Did you enable Jumbo Frames when you originally moved your DNS-323?  ???

As these problems sometimes go, other things were happening. At the same the DNS-323 was moved, the video driver on the PC was updated. The driver also upgraded the ethernet driver.

So, for some reason the new ethernet driver doesn't like the dns with jumbo frames on.

Or - the network wiring was shifted arounf during the move and one of the devices between the PC and the NAS does not support jumbo frame.

RAID1 is for disk redundancy - NOT data backup - don't confuse the two.

That could be the case, and an excellent observation as the wiring was also new. I can access the DNS from my main 'puter using jumbo frames just fine.
