RESTORE SHRUNKEN DRIVES. Was 3tb now 800gb
« on: November 01, 2012, 01:25:38 PM »

A short prologue to my Problem

DNS 320
H/W Ver:A1

Drive
Sata WD 3 Tb drive x 2
MDL: WD30EZRZ

Setup: RAID 1

One of the drives failed the smart test and subsequently I inserted a new drive. The exact same size and model WD30ERZ. I went through what I that was the raid recovery procedure. The procedure formatted both drives and I now have lost my data and the drives have shrunk to 800Gb.

In this Question I would like to enquire about HOW TO RESTORE MY DRIVES BACK TO 3 Tb DRIVES. Under system info and Drive info on the UI for the D-LINK the drives are both 800Gb. Under Disk management the drives both show as 3 Tb drives. Whenever I try to reformat the drives using the drive utility on the Mac they also show only 800Gb.

Can anyone advise how to get these two drives back to their original data size.
