Hi,
after installing Java 7 update 7 on my apple (OSX 10.8.1 / Safari 6.0), mydlink pages won't work anymore (error message says JRE is missing).

any idea?

I might contact DLink support and ask to see if there is any issues using the new OSX/Java versions. Have you tried using a different browser, say Opera or FF as a test?

contacted support but have received no reply.

chrome and firefox show same error message (browser can't find JRE).

btw tested java with other online applications: no problem.
(& direct access to camera isn't a problem either.)
so i suppose this is a problem of mydlink site (?)

myDlink has historically had intermittent issues with newly released Java updates.

Whenever I open mydlink.com with browser, a popup appears:

"mydlink is dependent on the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for many features within your web browser.
However Java is no longer preinstalled for Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

I might check to see if you can run 2 versions of Java on your Mac. I kind of doubt it. If you can't, you might have to remove the newer version and reinstall the older version.

You clear the cache on Safari after you removed Java and installed the older version?
I would try a different browser to see if Opera or FF is doing the same thing on the older version of Java.

If anything, contact Dlink on the phone, level 2 if you can.

Based on my experience with the DCS series, I've found it best to stick with a slightly older version of Java that works and delay upgrading until D-Link catches up with new changes.

same here, removing Java 7 and reinstalling the JRE 6 2012 from Apple (I have a OS X 10.8.2) did not help either. In the case of the Mac: the certificate cannot be trusted (nor located). I do think the Java window needs to be re-complied for Java 7. FF did not work (and Chrome is no help).

it is trying to load but keeps trying. Very cleanly: in a loop searching for the Java VM. D-Link: do you monitor these messages? where is the tech support contact so I can help?

I just installed jre-7u9-macosx-x64.dmg on OSX 10.8.2 and using Safari 6.0.2 and  I can now access mydlink.com and my DIR-865L cloud router. I noticed that before installing 7, I tried to install Java 6 and it installed however the Java Preferences did not appear in the Utilities folder and was not listed in System Preferences. So I installed Java 7 and I can now access the router on mydlink.com and Java is an icon in System Preferences. Not sure if this helps anyone with a DCS camera or not. I would phone contact DLink support, level 2 or higher and talk to someone and let them now about this issue with Java and OSX 10.8. The more visibility they see that users are having a problem with this, the more it will get reviewed and fixed sooner. I've found that using email with DLink is less than desired in moving problems thru DLink. Call and get help.
