Remote access 404
« on: November 29, 2012, 03:14:41 PM »

Hi guys,

Second time i try with a DNS-325. The last one i had couldn't be mapped, had no remote access and finally couldn't even be found on the network. Issues were never resolved so i got rid of it and now has a new DNS-325 Sharecenter Shadow. This one works fine on my home network, but i can't seem to get remote access. I have been trying for weeks now and can't understand that i have missed something. Hope anyone can help. Here is what i've done:

NAS connected fine on home network with static IP.
D-Link DDNS setup - IP updates ok in DDNS.
Ports 80, 21, 55536-55663, open.
Report ext IP in PASV mode selected.
FTP started.

I get a login screen when attempting to access the nas remotely thruu DDNS, but gets a 404 page when trying to log in. SSL login is selected as default in the login screen, whit default port 443 selected. Should SSL be selected by the way? And if so, what port should i use here? I have tried 443, 80 and 21.

Have i missed something here?

Thanks!

It looks like I managed to solve the problem. I ticked the "WinSCP:SFTP,FTP and SCP client" box for public networks, in "allow a program or feature..." in windows firewall. After doing this, i got remote access from an outside network. I have only been able to test from 1 outside network so far. I will try from another network aswell to verify.
