DNS-320 both HD led amber light
« on: November 14, 2013, 12:29:09 AM »

I am able to login from web interface as admin, but unable to mount as AFP. I have mount it as AFP before, but it fails these few days. The error message is:

"You entered an invalid username or password"

Both HD led indicator show amber light blinking.

Scan Disk. Volume_1, result fail. No detail error shown.

I can mount from Mac OS X finder, by clicking the DNS-320 icon on the left side of finder, change the user name, but unable to access to the second level folder. The finder shows waiting...

Once I connected from Finder, I am able to access through command line, but still unable to access from Finder UI.

You have Amber LEDs for the drives that means that the drives have failed in some way which usually means replacing the failed drives with new ones.

You can test the drives by removing them one at a time and installing them in a USB/SATA caddy or adapter, installing the disk manufacturers disk test tools and using those tools to test the USB attached drive.

If the drives pass the manufacturers tests then you need to test your DNS-320 - try resetting to factory defaults which removes all your user settings but does not touch the data on the disks.  If that fails to bring up the disk listing then you need a new unit but if the disks appear in the web UI but you can't see any data you should try reformatting them and restoring from your backup.

I have only 1 HD installed, but both amber light is blinking, does it means it has some problem with the LED light (or the DNS-320)? I have taken out the HD and connect through an external USB adapter, and use fsck to check the HD.

I have not tried reformat the HD, because I need to get another HD to back up the data, before I reformat.

Let me try reset. Thanks for the reply.

OK, try the reset because with only one drive you shouldn't have both LEDs lit.  The fact that you do indicates a problem in either the firmware settings or a faulty unit.
