There definitely seems to be a problem with the beta firmware. With version 1.02, Network transfer speeds averaged 90-100 MB/s on average to my NAS device. When i upgraded to 1.03, transfer speeds dropped to an average of 24-30 MB/s average. I did a complete router reset to eliminate any possibility of corrupt settings. Transfer speeds stayed around 24-30MB/s. Very disappointing!  :(

After restoring back to version 1.02. Network performance returned to normal! Has anyone else experienced network throughput issues with version 1.03?

Dlink should be informed and check into this. What do you think Fuzzynutz?

Did you follow the FW update process and do factory resets before and after sending the FW file?

Yes, most definitely. Everything went according to directions with no issues. I had never seen such a dramatic drop like that before with other routers i've owned.

Rolling it back to 1.02 definitely seems to have fixed it...for now. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on it.

What iSP service and modem model do you have?
How did you determine the speed drop?
Is this test wired or wireless?

ISP: Time Warner Cable
Modem: Motorola SURFboard® SBG6580 Series Wi-Fi Cable Modem Gateway.
Wi-fi disabled in modem.

There wasn't an internet speed drop at all. That remained normal @ 50 mb/s down/5 mb/s up.
It is strictly an internal network issue only. As of this reply, my network is continuing to run normally after the rollback to version 1.02., and the network is hard-wired running Cat6 cable entirely.

The slowdown was noted during transfer of video files from my main workstation and my NAS box.

Any chance you can bridge the 6580? That does have a built in router doesn't it?
Does the modem have a DMZ?

Yes it does have a built in router and it is in bridge mode. There is no reason to DMZ it since i am not accessing my network via the net. Strictly internal only.

Ok, I would keep v1.02 for now. The v1.03 isn't an official release so there maybe others forth coming, who knows. If you've done everything to load new FW and test in the same manor and seeing different results between each version then I presume something in the un-official version could be bad.

One thing you could test at some point, install a external Gb network switch between the router and all other wired devices to test. You'll be testing NICs and switch performance however this will eliminate any router processing interferences.

Yes, sounds like a good idea. I will keep that in mind after dlink releases the official version of 1.03. It will be interesting to see the final changes and if any network issues disappear.

Thanks for your input

John  ;)

V1.03 made it to the main web page. Not sure if it fixes anything else besides iOS 6 improvements.

Let us know how it works for you.
