Newbie problems with Web UI
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:13:58 AM »

Hi guys, hope you can help a newbie here,

I got my DNS-320 yesterday and apart from some problems installing it with the firewall it seems to be up and running and working well. I’m using windows 8 and overnight File History seems to have copied all my Library files successfully. So it's looking good.

The problem is that when I log onto the Web UI using the administrator password, I get the frame of the ShareCentre web page but nothing else. There are three buttons at the top (My Favorites, Applications and Management) but I can’t click them, and there are none of the icons beneath them that I can see in the user guide. Basically I have a blank page that I can’t do anything with or get past. The only things that I can do are shutdown or restart the DNS or logout.

I get the same result whether or not the firewall is on.

If I’m doing something very stupid, please break it to me gently.

Thanks for your help.

You didn't say what browser you are using but you could try using a different one.  If that works then you need to look at the settings of your original one - there may be something blocking the correct working of the web UI.

Thanks for your reply,

I'm using Internet Explorer 10. I'll try something else and let you know what happens.

I loaded Firefox and the UI comes up ok. I should have guessed the browser was at fault but I think I'd got it in my head that the firewall was messing with things in some way, since it had made the setup difficult. Guess I'd got stuck going down a single track.

Thanks for your help Ivan.

hey,
you have to activate the compatibility mode in the IE 10.  ;)
