Help!! My DCS-1130 picture is cloudy, washed out looking

Can anyone shed some light for me?  The other day, my camera started sending out a "black" picture, but it was connected because I could hear everything that was going on...just couldn't see anything but a black screen.  We shut it down for the weekend, then when we reconnected it Monday morning, the picture was back, but it looked like we put a sheer curtain in front of it and not clear at all.  I tried turning on the lights to see if maybe it just needed more light (it is normally just the light coming in from the windows), but it got worse and then refocused to the cloudy look.  Almost like it was too much white light... if that makes any sense.

We checked the Firmware and and it looks like we are current with that......

Any words of wisdom??

Have you tried a factory reset?

Have you confirmed the same black image on 2 different computers, or even 2 different version of software or access points? 

How long have you had it?  Have you tried connecting it via wired connection?

no, I haven't tried the factory reset.  I have had it for maybe 3 yrs.  Yes, viewed it on the computer and my iPhone... and while it was wired directly, I got the same cloudy looking picture.

I've never done a factor reset... I will look up how to do it......

To reset your camera to the factory default settings, while the camera is powered-up, press and hold the reset button on the side of the DCS-1130 for > 8 seconds (may require a paperclip if the button is recessed). This procedure will remove all user settings.

Alternatively (and preferably), log into your camera web UI and navigate to MAINTENANCE > System > Restore to Factory Defaults

Prior to performing this procedure, you may want to log into the camera web UI and save your settings as a "Configuration Settings File" prior to performing this procedure, so you can restore your settings afterwards.  In the web UI navigate to MAINTENANCE > System > Save to LOCAL HARD DRIVE > Save Configuration

I tried the reset this past weekend...  didn't know about saving the settings. I went thru the set up, but I keep getting the message "Could not reach the mydlink servers" so my account doesn't see my camera.  Can you help me?

When you reset you have to use the Wizard setup software to re-register your camera on mydlink. Also, make sure you are using the latest Wizard software. Quite often (as is the case with other D-Link cameras), if you continually upgrade the firmware, there may be a point where the Wizard software CD that came with your camera won't be compatible with the latest firmware.  You may want to download a new version.

well, I did something ....  I got it to recognize the camera, but it tells me that it can't do it remotely.  However, somehow, on Monday night it started working and my phone was able to see it.  Then Tuesday, when I went to check it during the day, it was off again.  Got home to see what was going on... it was back on the phone.  I thought maybe it was just because I was in range of the computer and my wifi... but this morning, I'm back to nothing...even being in the same room as the computer and next to my router......  I'm at a loss
