Update firmware, ?

I've just installed my DWA-140 and I'm already impressed with the speed of wireless-n compared to my original Netgear wireless-g setup. It's connected thro' a DIR-615 router and seems to be running fine so far. The adaptor firmware is ver:1.20(E) and there is an update to ver:1.21 available on the D-Link site. Seeing as things are apparently ok with my connection is there any particular reason to update or should I just leave it as is?

where exactly have you found a firmware to update DWA-140?

I you are not experiencing problems and you are satisfied, I would not recommend updating.

@ rcoloma - take a look at D-Link UK, DWA-140 updates

Thanks once again !!!clarkkent, I will leave as is for now. You can see why if you take a look at my thread in DIR-855 section    :)

just curios: i saw latest FW update for DWA-140: v1.71 ... my was delivered with 1.70 ...has somebody tried update FW...where to find info about how to update? (i know the risk...)

This is not firmware upgrade infact, it's driver update only.. ;)

I was not talking about driver...i know about that...that's why i asked about FW update i didn't found any...

PS: my DWA-140 is labeled H/W ver. B2 F/W ver. 1.70(E) ...also delivered with driver 1.70 on instalation CD

(for each F/W you need coresponding driver...you know that?! ;D)

I just got the B2 version fron Newegg w/FW 1.60 and updated to 1.71 using the download in the support section. According to the D-Link utility "about" page it is now v1.71.

you only updated the driver installed on your computer...
there is no way to update firmware (FW)...which is the software installed on DWA-140 adapter...
