DNS-323 Constantly Running

I have two symptoms that I suspect may be related. I have my DNS configured for RAID 1 and have been using it for 18 months or so. I've had these issues for some time and finally decided to try to fix them. I do have my DNS configured as an iTunes server. I have the latest firmware installed (I can't recall the level without looking but seems like its 1.09).

First, my DNS323 seems to be constantly running. By that I mean below the blue square power button, the blue light is constantly flickering 7x24. Additionally, if I have a Finder window open, there are some files that disappear and a moment later re-appear. Its always the same files. When they're visible, I can open them and manipulate them. I have tried copying the files to the same folder and the target version has no issue but the source still occasionally disappears and then momentarily re-appears.

Any ideas on what might be going on?
