Serviio on DNS-320L
« on: January 09, 2013, 11:24:41 PM »

Twonkey is not free and Plex is not supported yet...

Anyone tried Serviio on DNS-320L?

http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=install_dlinkdns3xx

It seems it can work on 320 and I assume it would work better on 320L

Please share your work :)

I have tried to install Serviio pack from the link but could not get it work.
I stuck at the step to connect to the NAS with SSH. Seems this package is for DNS 320 but not for the "L" version.

Has anyone had more luck with it?

There's a tutorial how to run serviio on Synology NAS (machine that has the same CPU as 320L). Java has to be installed on NAS since serviio is java app.

last time I tried installing serviio 1.x it was occuping 130% of my 320l memory, wich is defintely not a good thing.
http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6&Itemid=4#minimal_requirements says that minimum memory is 512mb, maybe synology optimized package has lower requirements but my tries says otherwise.
anybody got this thing working without problems?

I installed java 7u21 on my NAS and started serviio. It worked but I was unable to connect to serviio console. I didn't look at memory consumption but since this is java app I believe that it is demanding in terms of memory.
