I hope someone can help me. I am sure I am just missing a simple fix. I have 2 dir-655 routers, and older A and a newer B revision. I was using the B as a wifi supplier and a switch in my basement and using the A as just a switch on my first floor. I recently bought a new TV with wifi, hooked it up and it worked, however you tube was a little choppy. I decided to check my router settings and I decided to switch them both to an all N network, (no more b or g devices left) and re log in with my devices, trying to separate them between the 2 routers. Everything worked but I seemed to lose the connections on all the wireless stuff sporadically. I downloaded the latest firmare for each revision and reflashed the routers. Physically, the B(newer router) is connected into my cable modem and then another cable runs from the switch to the second A(older) modem upstairs. I went into each routers setup and changed the default IP address so they wouldn't conflict. The problem is I can now only get 1 router to connect to the internet at a time! Depending on how I power off and reboot them sometimes the older router which is connected THROUGH the newer one has an internet connection even though the router that is connected DIRECTLY to the internet does not??? All cables remain the same and this is true for both the lan ports and wifi?? Even though the lan port with the cable going upstairs MUST have an internet connection. I am sure it is some conflict I am just not seeing. PLEASE HELP!
