SD recording - Missing action
« on: October 10, 2013, 04:10:11 AM »

I've the same problem this user described here

On my DCS-2332L, SD recording is triggered by motion.

Pre-event recording: 0 Seconds
Maximum duration:  100 Seconds
Maximum file size: 5000 Kbytes
Delay for 0 seconds before detecting next event

If I jump in front of camera for 5 minutes. The first 15/20 seconds are recorded, misses the next 10seconds, records another 15/20seconds.  Another times, the first recording starts only when I already jumped for 10 seconds.

Is missing a lot of action. I restart the DCS-2332L many times, without solving the problem.

I think the process of saving the file and generating the jpg thumbnail is stealing resources for the next record.. the file size limit is the culprit. It forces generating many files for just one motion.

Anyone with this problems? Am I the only one?

Sounds normal compared to 2132l

If you want longer recording, drop frame rates from 30 to 10 and lessen resolution.

Change to 3 seconds between....

and what are your motion sensitivity level set to?  That probably isn't set to optimal.

Sensivity: 85 %
Percentage: 5 %

Already tried another settings. But I jump in front of camera, isn't a subtle movement, so it isn't a problem of detection. It's a problem of camera doesn't handle recording to multiple files without missing action...

2132l

I have 65% and 1% with only about 20% of the window enabled. (Special application)
Delay for 3 seconds before detecting next event [For motion detection and digital input and Passive Infrared sensor]
High priority =3

Video clip from profile 2 640x380 @ 30 fps

pre-event = 3
max 100
max file size 5000

server type : ftp

When I enabled SD Recording 24x7, the camera was too slow to FTP.. the 3 second pre buffer missed all the action.

I disabled the SD recording, and FTP is back to working.

So it sounds no different.
