[uPnP/DLNA] Auto refresh issues
« on: September 07, 2013, 05:07:00 AM »

Hi,

Happy owner of a DNS 325 since 3 or 4 months now, I played a little with it.
Custom apps via fun plugs, ipks, samba shares and so on.
Since now for every difficulties I could have encountered I found some ways to solve them with forum topics related (by myself sometimes too !).

Recently I bought an LG sound bar uPnP compliant (music, pictures and movies rendering aware) so I managed to setup some shares on my DNS.
Many hours (close to 4) after, followed by a reboot (!) I finally could access and watch for movies by this way.

Then I tried to add some new files into the corresponding movies folder.
Saw an UpdateDB process, once ssh connected on the NAS and a "top" command launched.
But on my LG sound bar, the listing of the available movies didn't update so far.
I've just installed and tried using "BubbleUPnP" Android app. I'm able to access shares but their list isn't up to date. My recent adds won't appear.

Having made some searches around related topics I only found this one ( http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42777.0 ) not specifically concerning our NAS model, but concerning a similar issue.
No bug report either, into the "WishList" ("master list" or not) concerning it.

For now, I'm currently testing the (previous given link) workaround which consist in doing a "refresh all" (4h !) then a reboot ... annoying !

Someone else with this kind of issues ?

A topic missed concerning it ? In case of, sorry for the noise ...

Hum ... I feel alone.

Really no one noticed similar issue ?

Well, I found another (faster) workaround !
1) put your new file somewhere (I've put it in one of my shares, didn't test putting it somewhere else)
2) ssh
3) UpdateDB -d UPnP -a add -p <FULL_PATH_TO_YOUR_FILE> -i
step faster than a full DB rebuild but ...
Here nothing happens -_-
4) Login to your NAS Web SysAdmin
5) disable uPnP AV Server
6) enable  uPnP AV Server
Got your new file ...

Come one !!
Let me say that a clean way to have uPnP/DLNA server updated exists, or else a work is in progress
