Bridge Mode vs Relay vs Acess Point (AP) / Routers vs Dedicated Access Points (AP)Review the 2nd to the last paragraph. The xbox 360 1st gen doesn't have any WiFi. MS came out with a dual band USB WiFi adapter. I have this and it works good. Both 2.4 and 5Ghz. The 2nd gen xbox 260 slim came with only 2.4Ghz built in. Works ok however seen many issues with this WiFi. Not sure of 3rd gen 360 or XB1 will support 5Ghz. I believe the XB1 supports 5Ghz.
I prefer and always recommend gaming or connecting any console on wired LAN if possible. In those cases where you can't, 5ghz Wifi is great if your in 20 feet and line of sight works best. One wooden wall or floor is ok too as 5Ghz is more susceptible to building material and such.
