NFS missing?
« on: October 17, 2013, 07:55:07 AM »

Good Day,

With FW 1.09 or 1.10 is it normal that NFS doesn't show up next to SMB
in ADVANCED->NETWORK ACCESS

Is this normal?

Thanks

NFS also doesn't show on the D-Link USA DNS-323 v1.09 emulator page: http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dns323/109/adv_session.htm  :-\

Are you sure the option was there in earlier versions? The fw v1.04 and v1.07 emulators do not have the option either.  Those are the only FW emulators posted for the DNS-323.

As far as the legacy ShareCenters are concerned, the DNS-343 is the only NAS that supports NFS (AFAIK). You may be able to use FFP to obtain NFS functionality on the DNS-323, but I'm the wrong person to ask. . . you'll need other Fun Plug users to chime in order to get more information.

Im asking because Im using XBMC for my Media Center... and when using Samba
i often lose connectivity... But on the 325 with NFS it works well and fast.
Same with my 343.

I do a search around on the forum to see if I find something.

Thanks for your time

There was a NFS addon at one time. It can be downloaded here

I can confirm that it is on all our vintage DNS-323 units because we use it to communicate with our OS/2 servers and computers rather than Samba.
