So I just upgraded and bought the 860L which came in today.
I have a Motorolla 3360 Modem (AT&T) that is a standalone modem and not a dual modem/router
I plugged the Ethernet to Router and Ethernet from router (port 1) to computer
I followed the quick guide instructions when I opened up IE 11 via 192.168.0.1
It then shows "connected" and even shows connected in my Network Center (Windows 7)
When I try and go to bing or google...it searches. Then says "ATT found a problem"
I think hit continue and it takes me to the ISP verifying information from me i.e. birdate and the login id/password (which I have correctly)
The outcome is it tells me my modem is recognizing either:
1) Not using the proper web browser and recommends IE or Safari (I was using IE)
or
2) My operating system isn't compatable and I need to have Mac or windows vista, windows 7, etc.
If I take the router away and go straight from the modem to the computer via Ethernet, NO PROBLEMS.
Ive already unplugged both modem and router and then powered on the router until fully booted before plugging in modem....same thing.
I've called up AT&T and have refreshed the line on their end via reset...nothing.
I've done a factory reset on the router and started from scratch....nothing.
I plugged in the old belkin G-band router I was using and wa-la...it works. So something I'm not doing is wrong. I cant figure it out. I have "connected" in the dlink network setup IP and it shows "connected" on my computer but "no internet connection"...
I went to Dlink support page and it has 1.4 firmware so I downloaded that. Still nothing. I feel like i'm missing something crucial.
So here is what I have:
ATT DSL
Motorolla 3360 (maybe the modem isn't compatible with the router???)
Using Ethernet from router to computer
Wireless wont work either fyi
When I open browser it tells me my modem says i'm not running right browser of have proper OS
ATT reset line on their end
Tested the modem by itself and it works and old setup works.
Any other information I need to give?
Any direction on this would be great. I'm just frustrated.
