Problem after firmware upgrade on DSL-320T
« on: January 03, 2014, 04:06:44 AM »

Hello everybody,
I upgraded my dsl-302t to the latest firmware, but unfortunately, I did it through the wireless network; while upgrading, the web interface got stuck to the upgrading process page; I left it for minutes 'cause I didn't know if it had finished upgrading or not, then I reloaded the page, and the web interface is gone now, it shows nothing, a blank page, even though the modem works! It connects to the internet!
I did a reset but nothing happened, I also tried the so called 30/30/30 reset, but it didn't work.
Actually, if I use IE to log in, it brings up the login box, I put user and password (the modem default ones, now that I made a reset) and it starts a never ending loading of the interface. If I use Firefox, it loads a blank page without login box, if the I press reload, it starts a never ending reload.
My question is, is there a way to make a hard reset of this modem? Or maybe a way to flash a firmware into it?
Thanks

So I called D-Link today, and, the guy just told me that, if reset didn't work, then there was nothing else to do. And that is called...support?! HA, just like my now ex d-link router (a DIR-635), which suddenly one day just stopped working, I called them, and what did the guy told me? Just buy a new one! Luckily I tried a new power supply, and found out that....that was it.
I find it ridiculous not to be able to do a hard reset on modems/routers, even though the mistake was mine, it can always happen that something goes wrong.

Another update, I was reading the manual of my new router (an Asus RT-N65U, wonderful router by the way) and I stumbled across the F.A.Q., one was saying that if you cannot if GUI doesn't load try to delete the browsers's cookies and cache, did that, but unfortunately nothing happened, tried with both IE and Firefox, same thing happens as before, after asking for user and psw on both browsers, IE starts an ever ending loading, while FF loads a blank page, then, if in FF I click on refresh it starts a never ending loading too.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your modem? Look at sticker under modem.
  • What region are you located?
Was there a problem with the DSL modem to give reason to update FW?
Do you still have the DIR-635?

3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
  • Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Thanks FurryNutz!
tried to log in with a netbook I had which has ubuntu on it, and it works, I can see the GUI! Tried it straight to the modem with ethernet cable, or through my asus router, tried it with firefox in safe mode and in normal mode, I can always log in and see the gui, so I guess it's a firewall problem. I'll try to solve my problem when the other laptop comes back, 'cause just today I send it to be repaired. It must be mcafee though.
I'll update in a few days.
Thanks a lot mate.
