Dir-655 as Bridge between Verizon Jetpak?
« on: February 09, 2014, 07:45:24 AM »

Help!

I recently bought a farm in the boonies, and need some help!  My only internet access is via a Verizon 4g Jetpak.  It started to really eat up the bandwidth (30g a month for an ungodly price) of late, and I need to be able to see what's eating the bandwidth.

I'd like to connect my PC wirelessly to the Jetpak, and have the an old DIR-655 (HW Version A2, Firmware 1.02) that I pulled out of my attic hardwired to the PC and act as the gateway for my other wireless devices in the house.  First off, is this possible?  Do I need a different device

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You might see if Bridge is a feature on your 655...I think it was in early versions of FW however was removed by D-Link in later versions of FW.

Over all it's not supported:
Bridge Mode vs Relay vs Acess Point (AP) / Routers vs Dedicated Access Points (AP)

I would recommend something that supports bridging listed in the sticky...
