Configure PXE boot on dhcp?
« on: February 23, 2014, 04:42:01 PM »

This is my first post, hi to the community  ;D

Im got a DSR-1000N with basic setup (pppoe, dhcp) and want to use from my server a PXEboot but see some instruction for the configuration with DD-WRT router but im have no idea hoy is posible to do it with the dlink.

Here the information:

http://www.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Modifying_existing_DHCP_server_to_work_with_FOG

Any idea how to do it?

Thx. in advance

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

You'll need to phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquired on help and information regarding PXEboot. It may not be support or just some configurations are needed.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi again, im recently call dlink Spain support and he say "this router dosent have this option because hardware limitation"

Is very strange because cheap comercial home user hardware with DD-WRT firmware have it!

At now my only option is use a dhcp server on server or but other router but any one got other option?

Thx.

WRT has more features in there FW and works on many kinds of routers. DSR series are more specific to business needs where PXE may or may not be used much anymore.

Good Luck.

Fixed.
