DCS-5222l Basics
« on: July 03, 2012, 05:39:39 PM »

If anyone can assist, it might save me TONS of time.

I have a new DCS-5222l:

1) Is there anyway through the camera or through d-camview to auto-patrol with this camera?
2) If Answer to 1 is "no", is there any other software that can do this?
3) I have set up 4 patrol points, but obviously my camera is sitting at one point which faces a door with some glass in it. I have set sensitit to LOW and I have turned on motion only for the IR detector. Despite there being no one in the house, I get e-mail alerts almost exactly every 15 minutes. Does anyone know what I might be missing?

Thank you TONS for ANY help you might be able to provide.

Thank you for your help. Can anyone please help me answer #3, which is not a firmware feature issue?

Thanks!

I think you might referring motion activation feature of the camera, yes, when the camera was working on the patrol mode (moving one point to another), its received image is considered motion activated, because the whole image was changing, (even it was programmed to do so), the motion active feature has a bug not able to differentiate real motion or motion due to patrol rotation, I think it is a feature bug.

Should be added to wishlist too.

You can set it to auto patrol with the previous version of DView Cam or you can downgrade the DNR to the previous firmware to do it

Patrol works in v1.10
Downer is that it triggers motion detection.

According to your third bullet, I have a lot of false positives after it is in the full sun for a couple hours. Could that be a problem ?

Hi All,

Any updates to this article, I for one need to have the auto patrol working. Doesnt matter if it is a supported feature or not - the camera system needs to patrol locations on a schedule. Despite what Dlink think about the cameras motor degredation and the motion sensor going off the auto patrol feature is still possibly the most painful thing about Dlink PTZ cameras.

Can someone please shed some light on getting the cameras to automatically patrol locations?

I dont care if it is using a third party software application or a script, I really need to get this working.

You can use D-Link's PC application D-ViewCam for automatically moving between Patrol presets. The application supports the creation of events for moving between patrol presets and can also serve the function of managing scheduled recording and playback: D-ViewCam Board

Have you had an opportunity to test D-ViewCam?
