Missing volume can't be detected?
« on: March 23, 2014, 11:48:00 AM »

Hi, I've two WD 2TB drives connected in a Dlink DNS-320L as Volume 1 & 2, both mapped as X & Y. Working fine till lately when the 320L seems to lose the connection with Volume 1 (X) and I can't access drive X: as a mapped drive.

From the Dlink web access app (ie thru it's IP), I can see both drives physically connected as Drive 1 & Drive 2 (and can even run SMART tests thru the Dlink web access app on both drives) but I only see 320L recognizing Volume 2.

I tried using the Setup Wizard and it allows me to select Volume 1 but also warns that if I proceed, it'll format (both) drives - which is now what I want.

Is there anyway I can reconnect Volume 1 to be recognize by the 320L without having to reformat the drive?

thanks.

Just to add-on, I'm not using any RAID. Just standard setup with 2 HDD.

Also the Volume 1 HDD was already formatted using DNS-320L wizard when it was first plugged in and have been running properly until recently when it just disappeared from the Volume list but still appear in the DNS-320L physical hard-disk list.
