I have installed a DAP-1522 as an access point in our network. The network is peculiar. It is basically a static IP network. However, for historical reasons there is a DHCP server configuring a few servers, without giving them internet access.
Clients attaching to wireless, get their settings from this old DHCP server, wether or not DHCP is set on the AP. I tried to use the app Wifi Static to give a static IP, but that seems to get overridden by the old DHCP server.
One thing I could think of would be to install a firewall between the AP and the network and filter DHCP requests comig from the AP. but that would be cumbersome, and I don't have the hardware necessary.
Another possibility, maybe more realistic is to run the AP as a real router with it's own subnet for all wireless, or even as a NAT with it's separate address space for all wireless.
I have the feeling I am asking something impossible.
Thanks in advance.
