I just found out that the advanced routing page will not allow me to change the interface from WAN to LAN.   I would like to know if any of the recent releases will fix this issue.

Most DIR series routers no not support LAN to LAN interface routing on home class routers and is not supprted by D-Link as a feature. Most LAN to LAN features are kept to the Business class line.

D-link hasn't been like most router companies in the past.   in researching this issue within the forums it appears that it was removed in a FW upgrade in the past.   It also seems a strange that a vendor would produce and script a routing page that doesn't allow you to establish routes, either through a WAN or LAN interface.

If you need LAN to LAN side routing, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire about which model router they have that supports the feature this you seem to require.

I thought about your suggestion and brought up a recent incident I had with a cell phone company that sold me a phone through a two year commitment and proceeded to lock the wifi and Bluetooth function that would allow me to transfer files, unless I paid a monthly fee.    When I bought this router, I expected it to be able to function as a router.  Since is was crippled whether intentionally or not, I am not about to pay for a feature that should be associated with routing.

o.k. I get it, no one in D-link is going to fix this, so I'm moving on.

I got a new cellphone company and I might as well switch my router provider as well.

This router is designed and meant to work as a single router and WiFi AP in conjunction with a stand alone ISP modem with out any built in router which is recommended. Single NAT condition. This router does not have any impact or bering on your phone services or there features. This router works well for me and my phones and all of my other devices with out using any additional routing by the router. We see no reason why it wouldn't work with your phones and maybe a configuration issue. You'll need to ask your phone services for support and information on how to configure there phones. The router is working as designed. Maybe you mis-understand how routers are supposed to work and how to configure them correctly.
