Offsite Backup

Has anyone set up their "system" so that what is on the DVR can be uploaded elsewhere periodically as a backup. I mean if a thug came to your business and took off with the HDD then you would be in deep doo doo. So am wondering about a precaution whereby the video is secured offsite. Am looking for a free or low cost solution ie maybe upload to DropBox or some other free or low cost cloud service? How to implement this?

Maybe there is no answer that's feasible.  Especially when you say low cost or free.

i think the issue lies in the file sizes? all the cloud services offer a 10-30GB? with costs for higher amounts, peoples NVR's have up to 2/4/6 TB's containing few weeks worth of footage. No cloud option is going to provide enough storage for a reasonable cost.

The NVR itself backup relies mainly on the physical USB port at the front. The only thing i could really recommend is making a backup daily to a Portable HDD and take that drive with you away from the NVR when you leave it.

I know to pull footage of my setup i need to either back it up and view it in the software. or access it directly through the NVR's local IP address and save the file to a Video file.

i guess again the issue lies in having some form of software that can do that automatically for you then upload it to a cloud.

I would guess the reason it has been views 200 times is because other people are curious to find a solution too.
