Author Topic: Coping files from Win8.1 to DNS-327L won't work with newer Firmware  (Read 5941 times)

Hello,

I've just got my NAS (DNS-327L) last week.
The NAS is connected to a Fritzbox 7312 router so I am able to access it via Wifi/Wlan.The router only has a 100MBit port. Transferspeed is about 8Mbyte/s.
At first I copied all my photos to the NAS  (Win 8.1 PC -> Fritzbox -> DNS-327L) which worked flawlessly.
But after switching to the newest firmwares, the coping will abort after a view minutes.

At the end I have used 3GB files for testing.

No Problems with the Firmware:
DLINK_DNS327L.1.00b09(3.13.0409.2013)

Problems with coping files:
DLINK_DNS327L.1.01b09(3.13.1213.2013)
DLINK_DNS327L.1.02b01(3.13.0422.2014)

Can anyone confirm similar problems?

Greetings from Germany :)

I'm running Firmware version 1.01 and have no problems in copying files from/to this NAS. Among other systems, I also have a WIN8.1 Laptop in my network. The DNS-327 is attached via GBit LAN to an ASUS RT-N56u router, all clients use Wifi.

Thanks for the hint to the new firmware revision 1.02 - There seems to be no announcement yet here in the forum...

Thx for the reply kalle,
it seems like DLink has fixed the heartbleed- ssl bug with the newest firmware.
Here is the download-link: ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DNS-327L/REVA/

I also found out that I had some authentication failures with the newer firmware.

Here is an example from the (80 page long?) system log:
Jul 12 23:38:53 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.
Jul 12 23:38:53 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.
Jul 12 23:39:56 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.
Jul 12 23:39:56 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.
Jul 12 23:41:00 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.
Jul 12 23:41:01 CIFS: Authentication for user [root] has FAILED.

after back-dating to firmware 1.00b09 the log records only:
Jul 13 12:22:37 CIFS: [192.168.178.20] connected to [Volume_1] as user [nobody].
Jul 13 13:09:57 CIFS: [192.168.178.20] closed the connection to service [Volume_1].

... which works fine for now.
Could this be the cause of my problem coping files?

I don't think so - I have similar error entries. Several of those at several times:
Jul  7 08:53:31 DNS327L smbd: CIFS: Authentication for user [myusername] has FAILED.
Seems my win7 laptop trys some default password after booting (i didn't save my password there)

however, my entries refer to the smbd process while yours don't seem to do so...

p.s.: yesterday after I wrote my first answer to your request I had some similar problems later. When copying 2 files to the DNS-327L (I tried it several times) the uploads froze at ~90% and then failed. Maybe this was just a coincidence. I restarted the NAS and that effect was gone (and as I said, I never experienced such behaviour beforehand).
