Connecting 2 PC's to the DNS Via LAN 1 & 2
« on: July 17, 2014, 10:31:27 AM »

Hi,

My DNS is not connected to a router its connected to 2 PC's via direct Ethernet cables. Is this a usable configuration?

I had a few issues getting the first computer up and running but its now fine, I tried connecting the second computer into the LAN2 port on the DNS but it doesn't pick up the DNS.

IP Config for LAN on 1st PC is:
Autoconfiguration ip4: 169.254.125.186
Sub:255.255.0.0

IP Config for LAN on 2nd PC is
Autoconfiguration ip4: 169.254.1.239
Sub:255.255.0.0

IP Config for DNS is
IP: 169.254.161.165
Sub:255.255.0.0

What should I try?

thanks

I believe only one LAN connection is supported at a time.

If you need to have more than one PC connect to the DNS, I recommend one of these Gb switches:
