I'm in the UK and have a Sharecenter 320L NAS - Hardware revision A3 running Firmware 1.0.3 dated 9th April 2013 - an upgrade from it's original factory version of 1.0.1.
My problem is this..
When I add files to the drive (RAID 1) the drive capacity shows as increased, but when I delete them the change in drive capacity is not shown - therefore it appears my disk is forever growing in size and presently showing as near to capacity when it's not.
I can prove this by logging onto the mapped drive from MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and selecting the parent folder, right click and go to properties and it shows only 995GB in use (of 2gb RAID 1 - (4gb ac tual)).
It makes no difference if I add or delete files from windows or from a browser session - the issue is the same - it only registers file size changes when files are added - not when they are deleted.
I have run the share wizard and attempted to remove the recycle-bin and re-install it to no avail. I have scanned the disk, shutdown, power off, reboot - remapped the drives, etc etc.
I have used several variants of firmware upgrades on a wired connection to no avail - I just get the generic error message "upload firmware fail. Please retry again". (why is there no log file output for firmware upgrades?).
I've looked around and cannot find a firmware upgrade for UK DNS-320L - HW REV A3 - can someone verify there is such an upgrade from 1.0.3 please or perhaps advice on my next best steps to get this drive to recognise it's free space.
Thanks
David
