My DAP-1320 will not connect to my DSL-2750B router.  I've tried playing with the channels, frequencies, wireless modes, and encryption types but can't seem to get the right combination.  I was able to get it working temporarily by playing with some of the router settings but as soon as I tried changing the network name on the extender I lost the connection again and can't seem to get it back.  I was able to use WPS to enroll it and even saw that the enrollment was successful, but the extender keeps blinking with a green light.  I've seen someone start this topic before: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=54032.0 but it was never answered successfully.  Please help.

Is this a retail modem or a modem from an ISP service?

If you set up the DAP using the set up wizard, and it connects to the main host routers WiFi, then thats the only thing that should be done. If your trying to change the SSID names, you need to make changes on the main host router there first, then you have to set up the DAP again to have it scan for the new SSID names so it can reconnect to the new names is all.

The firmware on the DSL-2750B is VZ_1.44 and hardware is T1.  It's provided by Verizon Wireless.  The region is US.

The DAP firmware is 1.21B01 REVA2 and hardware is A2.

I'm not changing the SSID.  I just meant that I had it working for a bit and when I tried changing the SSID of the DAP it lost the connection.  And when I changed it back it was still not connecting.

What is the distance between the main host router and the DAP?

• What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
• 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
• Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
• Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
• What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
• Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
• Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

I'd power cycle the main host router then do a factory reset on the DAP and set up from scratch and use the set up wizard to connect to the main host router.

The distance is about 8 feet and both the DAP and router are in the same room.  I've tried N mode only,  20 Mhz only, channels 1,6 and 11, and WP2/AES Only.  I've also tried 20/40 Mhz and 40 Mhz only with the the same channels and encryption but cannot get anywhere.

Do other devices connect to the main host router correctly?
What happens if you temporarily disable the Security on the main host router and then connect the DAP?
