Dear forum members,

I really need your help here.

I am a little bit confused. According to my D-Link Share Center I currently use the following
firmware:

Current NAS Firmware Version
1.03
Firmware Date
09/04/2013

-> Can anyone please tell me what the newest version is ?

Where can I find 2.04b02 and 2.03b02 ? Which one should I use ? I am really confused here :(

Any enlightment would be greatly appreciated.

PLUS I have the following question:

How can I preserve the original date/time of a file when transferring via FTP ?

I set the setting in Filezilla but obviously the date/time is not preserved. It appears that
the Dlink NAS FTP server does not support MFMT. Is this possible ? Can anyone confirm this ?

I really appreciate all your feedback and help.

Hi,
I can't answer your MFMT question, but part of your confusion is that there are several similiar versions of the DNS-320, the A1, A2, B2, and the newer 320L.  Your first step is to check the small tag on the back or bottom of your unit and make sure which version you have.  Then the easiest way is to go to the DLINK support site for your country or region, do the product, downloads and you will likely find both the most current and older versions of your firmware for your version.  There is often a link for the most recent beta version available from this forum, but you have to be sure it's for your version of the 320.  If not, it probably will fail on install, but...you could possibly damage your 320, so get it right.  Also, before just updating, read the change log, many folks have updated and then discovered something they needed is now broken.  Check the comments of other's in the appropriate sticky on your forum.  Oh, by the way, a device with 1.xx firmware is generally not going to work with 2.xx firmware.  Good luck

Cable2 has replied to the first part of your question and all I would add is don't update the firmware unless there is something added to a newer version that you need - newer does NOT equate with better.

Now your FTP problem.

We have not seen the change of date/time here when we use the FTP server on the DNS-320, we always get the date/time as it appears on the NAS, BUT we don't use windows.  Now I just tried using FileZilla on win XP in a VM and downloading from the NAS does change the date/time so I am assuming it is a function or setting in FileZilla that needs setting because the NAS FTP server will and does preserver the date/time.

Hi !

I most certainly appreciate the feedback. Thank you !

The device I am using is the DNS 320-L .

So I assume the version I am using is the newest one.

Or what is the newest official / beta release for this unit ?

Regarding the FTP issue I have already activated the preserve date/time function
in Filezilla and this should make sure that the data and time are kept however this is
not the case :( I can live without that function actually and I am not going to cry
because of it but it would be nicer if I could keep the original date and time.

Hello,

so can anyone please tell me what the newest firmware for my DNS 320-L device is and where I can obtain it ?

I am a little bit confused. I think I am already using the newest firmware version however I am not entirely certain.

I am not sure why you are having such a hard time but, in the US, this should get it for you.
http://support.dlink.com/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DNS-320L

If you are in some other country just google Dlink Support + your country and select a link either country or Region, i.e., EU or whatever.  Once there you should easily be able to find a product support and download option to find your firmware.  Be aware that when you get there, if there is a little tab which should give you all available firmwares for download.  Once downloaded make sure you completely unzip the files and then attempt to upgrade via your DNS-320L web interface.   Do not attempt to use firmwares from another Region on your device.

@ cable2

This is actually a very valiable piece of information !

I would have never thought of not using the US version of a certain firmware update for my
European box. This is really weird.
