Have set up a view of my remote webcams (DCS-5300 920 and 2200) in Uk on my newly installed KUbuntu here in France. Observations so far are that images are very good. For anyone attempting this, there are essential points to get right.
Firstly the relevant URL link to the remote cam (admin:password@IPaddress); secondly a specific camera link (cgi-bin/video.jpg?size=2, or similar) [I used Ispy on Win to find best link] and thirdly exactly the same image size that the cam is outputs [ex. 352x288].
What does not yet work is camera control as I need scripts for each PZT enabled cam. Also with 6 images on the Mozilla browser, I find that they can freeze, negating the security aspects intended.
The set-up is daunting as full LAMP is required (MSQ, Apache-server, PHP) before installation.
if anyone can add similar experiences, I'd be pleased to receive them! Jeff
