Cameras: Four (4) DCS-5222L Rev. B, wirelessly connected to router.
DNR-202L, connected to router via ethernet.
Modem: Arris T722G Telephony.
Router: WesternDigital MyNet N750.
Wifi security: WPA.
Other connected devices: 1 x iPad Air, 1 x iPhone5S.
ISP: Comcast Xfinity Internet/Phone/TV.
Comments: the router (WD N750) is a tried and true model for us. We have two units in two different residential properties and they perform well. The DCS-5222L Cameras are positioned in areas of the house where there is strong Wifi signal.
Issue: The four DCS-5222L cameras would drop wifi connection at the same time and are unable to reconnect. Only fix is to reboot the router; the cameras would connect, and work for anywhere between 5 minutes / through the night, then they would spontaneously drop the connections again and fail to reconnect.
When the cameras drop the connections, they also seem to disable all other wifi devices that were connected; the iPad and iPhone would not be able to access the internet, though they would still appear to be connected.
We have, at this point, ruled out the router as the cause of the issue, as we originally purchased a TP-link router with these cameras, which exhibited the same symptoms, and that prompted us to switch to a router that we know has worked for us for the past 3 years (WD myNet N750).
The camera resolutions are set to 800x480 and quality to medium to decrease bandwidth use. Their firmware were just updated to 2.02.06.
Please advise. Thank you.
