DGS-1210-24 GUI VLAN ID field not showing up
« on: January 20, 2015, 01:23:12 PM »

I'm trying to add a new VLAN and following the manual.
The ports show up, but not the VLAN ID field or VLAN Name don't show up.
I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and IE on multiple machines.
I've updated IE to version 11 and Chrome to latest version.
Everything else in GUI works fine.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your switch Look at sticker under the switch case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded?
  • What region are you located?

How is the switch connected?
What Mfr and Model # is the main host router?
What PC and OS are you using to access the switch?

see sticker at URL below

Firmware Version    1.00.015

I'm using a Dell Precision T3500 running Windows 7.
I've also tried a VMware virtual machine running Windows 2008 Server.

Well I tried one more machine.

A Redhat RHEL 6.4 box and Firefox browser and this worked for me.

I can see the VLAN text boxes as shown in the manual.

So I have a work around which is good enough for me since this is something I won't do very often.

Thanks !!!!!

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

PC Web Browser Configurations
Try Opera or FF in Windows next time? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

You might ask about updating the switches FW:

I see there is newer available.
