Dear all,

I use a DLINK DIR-605L hardware rev:A and firmware: 1.14

My configuration:
I connect the DLINK to a "main" network (with DHCP + internet + network drive..., that I am not able to manage) in the wan plug and on other plugs, I connect 1 computer and 1 embedded server device.

My goal is to "hide" a sub network from the main, because the embedded server must have a specific IP address, and I can't administrate the mail network.

On my first try I set the server and computer to DHCP, and use the DHCP RESERVATION to fix an IP to the server (192.168.1.69). Then use the DMZ to the server. Everything works perfectly: I could see every server service from the main network . But for my test, the server must a static IP (and must be 192.168.1.69). Then I set the static IP to server, remove the DHCP RESERVATION rules, and it is impossible to reach the server from main network (but works from the computer on the same "sub" network) 
So I try with port forwarding and I have exactly the same problem.

How can I do the use DMZ and static IP?

• What region are you located?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

What is the Mfr and model of the main host router? What it's IP address and subnet address?
What is the IP address the 605L gets from the main host router?

When using Static IP addresses, they should be ON the device that your configuring and not the router. Also the Static IP address should be out side of the 605Ls DHCP IP address pool, 192.168.0.100 thru .199, in this case it is. If the 605L isn't on the same subnet and IP address pool as the main host router, then connection from that network to the 605L network may not be possible.

Thank you for your reply.

My region is France.

The "main" network it's a company network so I don't know the modem configuration. This network give me (DIR-605L) an address by DHCP (10.150.66.73).
I set the router address to 192.168.1.1 with sub net mask 255.255.255.0. The DHCP range when enable is from 10 to 100. I enable the DMZ to 169.168.1.69 IP.

case 1:
DHCP enable and DHCP RESERVATION force my device to IP address 192.168.1.69.

case 2:
DHCP disabled, and force on the device the ip address 192.168.1.69.

On case of case 1 all works (the device is visible from the main network (10.150.66.XX)), but on case 2 it doesn't.

I would presume that that IP reservation is needed so the router can do it routing to traverse from the main LAN to the LAN on the 605L. Setting a static may not be able to traverse across the NAT with out help from the 605L.

Yes that what I can see, but it is not normal, it could be possible to do a DMZ with static ip (see same problem on DIR-826L).
how can I do, because my device must be with static IP?
Why there is no new update for revA since 2013 and for revB there are update until 09/12/2014 ?

What happens if you change the default DHCP IP address pool from .10 thru .100 back to .99 thru .199 on the 605L. Then use a static IP address ON the device, then input the Static IP address into the 605Ls DMZ, does this work?

This model router has been out for a while and has probably come to a FW development end cycle so I don't know if there will be any more updates unless there is a major security issue found. D-Link only seems to fix security issues, if found,  on older routers that are not developed on anymore.

Yes it is.

No: works from internal(192.168.1.XX) but not from external (10.150.66.XX).

I have the same problem with an other D-Link: DIR-120.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
