Hello, need help boosting my WAN speed to reach what i pay for with my ISP.

Direct PC (Win 7 Pro) + TWC Modem i get = 320Mbps/22Mbps

But when i connect PC + DIR655 + TWC Modem  i get = 160/18

Here is what i have done hoping to solve the issue but to no avail:
- Tested the CAT6 cables and both are reaching the 320Mbps/22Mbp (modem to dir655 and PC to dir655)
- Upgrade DIR 655 firmware to 1.37NA
- Disabled QoS and got better results 230/22
- Disabled Wireless and got better results 260/22
But i cant live w/o wireless so i hope someone can give me better pointers and next steps.

• Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch?

Is Traffic Shaping disabled? Disable it if its enabled and test again...Disable SPI as a test as well and see...
Disable WISH and WPS.

This router is getting to be a bit old so not sure if it was designed for high WAN ISP speeds above 100Mb.    I think Rev C does since it supports Tru Gb Routing.

Working? oh yes! i love this router, had it since 2007. And you are right it is old but a working horse. It never let me down. this is why i want to do whatever it takes not to replace it.
Same results 220/22
SPI= Disabled
APG=Unchecked
Wish=Disabled
QoS=Disabled
WPS=Disabled (but cant live w/o it) but oddly enough no wifi does give me 260/22
WAN Speed=1000Mbps

Ok, Kind of has I feared...I think the WAN routing speed support is going to be lower that what your paying for if you use this router... 

I'll recommend checking into a router that can handle your newer ISP Speeds, DIR-655 Rev C, DIR-868L or 866L. I know the 868L does. Great router. Have the 655 Rev C however I don't know specifcally if it does since I don't have an ISP speed package over 100Mb.

Ah! This is new to me but just curious if it could be Ipv6 related?

I noticed that if plug my PC directly to the modem i get this:

You can disable the IPv6 protocol on the PC and test to see if it effects anything...
Rev A is not compatible or supporting of IPv6 protocol traffic...

Disabling IPv6 doesnt do anything.
Conclusion: I only gain my ~300Mbps if i disable Wi-Fi + the other settings in my original post

Well Rev A is about 8 years old now. Back then we didn't have much if anything over 100Mb WAN ISP speeds. So Rev A was designed around routing for the speeds at the time with some future over head I presume. Looks like you are getting some of what you have now with Wifi disabled. This maybe a wifi speed issue as well.

One thing you could do, if you wanna keep the 655 a your main host router, disable WiFi on the 655 and install a newer DAP model AP, like maybe a DAP-1650 as a wifi upgrade for the 655. Then you can use the 655 as your wired host router and DAP for wireless which would add 5Ghz to your environment along with 2.4Ghz.
